This New Moon Solar Eclipse isn’t just the duality of this and that, but the multidimensionality of destined new beginning through the gateways of the past. This New Moon Eclipse is a reconciliation of opposites. The shadow dancing with the light, death laughing with birth, and fear singing with love.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse at 10° Libra peaks on Wednesday October 2nd at 11:49 AM MST, bringing powerful connections and a catalyst for change. This lunation offers the duality of fresh new beginnings, as New Moon’s often do, and the inevitable wrapping things up from the past so that no longer align with the direction we are moving. This new beginning does not come without its shedding, we must release what is no longer aligned with our evolved state, so that the new chapter can be fully received at the soul level.
Eclipses are connected to the Nodes of the moon, which are points in the sky that are connected to our destiny. These points are along an axis of the past, and the future; and with this current Solar Eclipse, it is a South Node Eclipse, so connected to the past, but it’s also a New Moon, which kicks of an new lunar cycle. I think of it as literally between worlds right now. While we navigate this in-between stage, it can feel chaotic, unstable and like things are changing abruptly, so I recommend staying centered and setting boundaries with yourself and with others to maintain a level of peace and a calm nervous system.
The New Moon is aligned with the South Node in Libra. The South Node is connected to our past, ancestors and karma. Libra is relationships, love, and balance. So this New Moon has the opportunity to bring relational matters from the past to our conscious awareness, so that we can allow this to be the catalyst for change.
Eclipses often carry an amplified energy, where surrender is your greatest guide during eclipse season. However, this New Moon is offering a new perspective on surrender. There is a restored energy of faith through the Law of Rhythm, tapping into Spirits natural rhythm, while relinquishing to the ebb and flow. This energy returns a deep sense of trust, and hope in our fated journey. Surrendering, but through tapping into the rhythm of the universe, and having faith you’re on the right path.
The archetype of Libra is the lover and the peacemaker. Libra kicks off a new season, [modality: cardinal], where Summer turns to Autumn and we transition from an abundant and energized summer season to a slower, cooler, darker season, where the plants slowly begin to turn toward death. It is the start of shedding season. I often connect Libra energy to the equilibrium, not only on Earth, [equal days and nights] but also to ourselves, specifically our nervous system.
Libra is ruled by the planet, Venus, also known as the Greek Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. This means Venus rules this New Moon. So it is important to know what Venus is doing in the sky during this lunation. Venus is currently at 11° Scorpio, bringing a deeper emphasis on our shadows. Shadows specifically in the way we relate to others, and to ourselves. Venus is currently bringing our most intimate wounds to the surface to ultimately wrap up any loose ends, let them go so that we can fully receive what is next for us, from a soul level. Libra’s shadow is codependency, which also leads to people pleasing. Taking on an identity because you think others are more than likely accept you, but it isn’t yours. Trying to fit into a box to please others, but not yourself. This particular energy will pull you further away from your equilibrium, because it is not truly who you are. It’s illuminating the co-dependent shadow, to transform it, and get you ready for your evolution. There is mirror consciousness here that offers an evolution of the connections in your life and what is showing up, how can you transform it.
This New Moon is conjunct Mercury – opening new channels and fresh ways of communicating.
A potent time of new connections with others, with Earth, with Spirit, and with yourself. Letting go of those old, stagnant stories, that have held you in a grip from moving you forward. There is a purifying energy coming through with new connections and clear channels, so the new stories can take hold and lead you down your most destined path. It is a great gift is to open new lines of energy, through all forms of communication; with others, with Spirit and with yourself.
There is a grand water trine between Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces, this energy can enhance the emotionality around the already heightened Eclipse energy, big feels! I look at the feeling as an opportunity to grieve and let it all out. With Saturn in the mix, it means there are lessons we are learning from our relationships and the way we feel within our relationships.
Neptune is conjunct the North Node and is bringing more faith in our future, but Neptune could also be causing some confusion on where we are going. Neptune is our dreams, but can bring illusion, and with Neptune aligned with the North Node, the point directly related to our destiny, it could appear that the direction we are moving is not the way we thought it to be, but have faith its the way.
Some of the energy that I am feeling coming through around this New Moon Eclipse, is what if it isn’t what you thought it was, but better? Are you ready for it? And if not, how can you create connection with yourself and your insecurities, in a healthy way, to get yourself prepared for this fated new beginning.
Questions to Ponder: Who and what am I choosing to commit to right now? Do these commitments feel true for me, and in alignment with my souls destiny? What repeating patterns keep showing up, but no longer align with my souls destiny? What relationships do I need to release in order to fully receive what is for me? Think about the shadow of codependency and your personal boundaries and ask yourself, at what cost am I willing to sacrifice my well-being? What self-boundaries am I negotiating or sacrificing in relationships? What does a balanced nervous system look like for me? And what are ways I can bring balance to my nervous system? What is calling me back to my heart, to my true soul’s desires? Food for thought: What if this new cycle and chapter are not how I imagined it to be, but better?
