Trust what you feel, not what you see.
None of us are free if one of us is chained.
On January 29th at 5:35 AM MST we have our first New Moon of 2025, and it is a powerful dark moon at 9* Aquarius. Aquarius is known as the Water Bearer, who is symbolically holding a vessel, pouring water out. While Aquarius is a Fixed-Air sign, the Water Bearer symbol is a representation of holding a vessel of knowledge. In ancient times people of the village would meet at the well, and share information. Aquarius collects this information and knowledge and distributes it to its community through innovation and in support of the community and its future. The water (or knowledge) pouring from the vessel can be managed by Aquarius, through a purification process.
While Aquarian energy may not always be the most emotionally in-tune, often leading with their head, before their heart, they have a strong connection symbolically giving life and wisdom to the spiritual world. This is a beautiful week to detach from your ego, and find safety within your heart. Trust what you feel, not what you see. And be open to exploring some unknown territory; intellectually.
Some are calling it the age of Aquarius, you have already heard plenty about this with all the Pluto talk in recent months. Pluto, the planet who brings force for change and power, moved into Aquarius in November, where he will be for the next ~20 years and is another strong influence during this New Moon. This New Moon, and a stellium in Aquarius on January 29th, syncing up with the Chinese New Year, the year of the Wood Snake, sets a strong tone for what’s to come not only for the next 6 months, but also the next year, and the next two decades. Pay attention to the downloads you receive, to the ways in which you want to express yourself individually, the emotions or detachment from emotions that are coming up for you at this time. The questioning of the illusion, of what you see, versus what you feel. While Aquarius is an Air sign, despite its symbol of the Water Bearer, who is symbolically bringing life through a spiritual lens, Aquarian energy in highest frequency provides spiritual nutrients to the collective. Aquarius is a very growth-oriented sign. Aquarian energy seeks knowledge, and collective equality to all, through innovative humanitarian efforts and through expressing our unique individuality. Aquarius craves liberation, freedom, individuality, through mind intelligence, originality and sometimes even rebellion. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the liberator.
We are undergoing a deep transformation in the collective at this time. This can in turn cause each of us to question who we really are and what we think we know. What is real? What is an illusion? How can we fuse our head and our heart, not only individually, but collectively?
Aquarius is focused on community, but also emphasizes your individuality among a community. How can we work together, and how can you bring your specific gifts and individuality to your community?
Aquarius stellium can be intense emotional energy. Aquarius is rebellious by nature, and thrives on individuality.
With the Sun, Moon, Mercury, the planet of communication, and Pluto all in Aquarius, the song Mad World, by Gary Jules from the movie, Donnie Darko comes to mind.
“And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you ’cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles, it’s a very, very
Mad world
Mad world
Mad world
Mad world…..
Hello teacher, tell me, what’s my lesson?”
The New Moon is making a strong trine to Jupiter in Gemini, this can bring feelings of generosity and abundance, specifically around information we are receiving or open to receiving. This can support us in getting clear on the stories we have been collecting about ourselves and the world around us, getting clear on new goals that will bring us closer to our personal gifts and authenticity that we can offer to our community. Setting new goals around this New Moon trine Jupiter has a foundation of boundless possibilities! Get clear, think big, trust your self-expression and the personal gifts you have to offer!
During this lunation, we also have concentrated energy in the sign of Pisces. Venus, Saturn, Neptune and the North Node are all in Pisces. Bringing a tremendous amount of faith, and spiritual alignment to your structures, values and dreams. Be mindful of the way you are viewing things during heavy Pisces energy, as Pisces has a tendency to escape, imagine, or mystify reality. But with the water stellium, we have this ability to feel, and to trust what we feel. This is where we lean into our hearts, with compassion. It’s a wonderful time to meditate, and get quiet, so any messages can come through our physical body. Pisces brings faith, compassion, and connection to spirit, and our spiritual self, beyond the physical realm. This is where we can fuse the Aquarian head energy with the Piscean heart energy!
The last aspect I want to mention is Chiron square Mars retrograde. The wounded healer of Chiron brings a lot of wisdom, through our healing journeys, we learn a lot about ourselves through healing our wounds. Mars, the planet of assertive action, passion, and anger is currently retrograde in Cancer, making our ways of taking action feel a little uncomfortable, and this specific square to Chiron could be bringing forward hidden wounds that do not know how to express themselves yet. Whether it’s through anger or tears, but nonetheless these wounds want to be seen, to be liberated. Having trust in alchemizing these wounds will bring you further into your unique wisdom and way of expressing yourself. Have faith that these wounds will not only serve you and your greatest potential, but humanity too!
This is a beautiful New Moon to think big, and plant seeds for an abundant, and new future. A lovely New Moon to embrace your quirks, to connect with community, and to network, to set intentions, to rest, to get quiet, to purify what we “think” we know, to meditate, and to have faith in the rebirth.
The last thing I want to mention is the Law of Polarity. I am not exactly sure where it fits in this New Moon weather report, but I am consistently getting downloads about the duality in life, and the laws of the universe. While I sat down to write this, it came through again, so strongly, so I just want to share a little bit about the Law of Polarity and understanding that everything operates on duality. I am sensing it has some plutonian energy to it.
Law of polarity: “Everything is dual, everything has poles. Everything has its pair of opposites. Opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree.”
The law of polarity reveals that everything that exists, and is interconnected through opposing poles. Hot and cold, light and dark, inspiration and fear, good and evil, positive and negative. They are not enemies, but rather complimentary. This law is deeply rooted in the structure of the universe. Opposites not only co-exist but depend on each other to make sense. Finding balance within the dual flow of the universe. Understanding the law of polarity is essential to understanding yourself and the way nature in which the universe operates.
“The interaction of extremes creates dialogue and ideally, progress. The ultimate alchemy is one transmutation to the other, from fear to unconditional love” -The Law of Polarity
Questions to Ponder:
What are some of your quirks? How do you embrace them?
What is your connection (or role) to your community? How does your community support you and how do you support others in your community?
What is something you are feeling into that you would like to see for your future? Answer this through a sense of feeling, versus a sense of seeing.
If you could express yourself with full authenticity, and no worries on how others would perceive you—with nothing standing in your way, how would you authentically show up in the world?
