“Agua de la Madre is our most recent elemental ballad, a collection of folkloric imagery tied to our love for this wild and stunning earth, the elements of this continent, the power of water and the lands of our North, Central and South American families. It was written and released only DAYS before the catastrophic Hurricane Helene hit Southern Appalachia and changed all our lives forever. It was originally written as a love letter to place, and a love letter between land and sea, and the story of water. Now its meaning has changed so much, being an homage to water after SO much water has ripped through our homes and communities as the rivers rose nearly 19 ft past their banks and swept our towns, studies and homes away. We built the herbal essence Agua de la Madre with our incredible friends of Anima Mundi as a powerful magic essence tied to protection and folk herbalism. And now we are equally inspired to tie this herbal essence to the lands of Southern Appalachia where the bio-diversity is so potent.
